Chaz Monet (Born on October 27, 1990) also known as Chaz Monet is an American actress, singer and songwriter. Chaz was born in Detroit, Michigan. She had a tough start in life (she opens up about it all in her songs & motivational speaking). Her love for performing was apparent at an early age. She began her career as a child actress at the age of 6 starring in the Wonderful World of Disney film “Ruby Bridges”, the title role in this poignant story of desegregation in the Louisiana public schools. This was the first time in history of television, that a United States President introduced a Movie of the Week. President Bill Clinton did so because of its significance as a historical milestone. For her portrayal as Ruby Bridges, Chaz was nominated for the Hollywood Reporter Young Star (1998) and she won the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie/Pilot/Miniseries (1999). Two years later, Chaz portrayed her second historical role, Harolyn Dandridge in HBO’s “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” starring Oscar & Emmy winner Halle Berry.
Since then, Chaz has grown up to become quite the actress. Her film credits includes, “The Inheritance”, “Spooky House” (playing opposite Oscar Winners, Ben Kingsley & Mercedes Rhuel), “Tricks” and “Cricket Player”. Some of her television credits includes “90210”, “Cold Case”, “ER”, “Strong Medicine”, “Any Day Now”, “That’s Life”, “Caroline in the City”, “Chicken Soup for the Soul” and a recurring role on Nickelodeon’s “Brothers Garcia”.
As a Musical Artist/Songwriter Chaz Monet just released her first debut single “Forgive Me Father” on all platforms (Spotify, iTunes, etc). The development of her unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical influences such as Madonna, Beyonce, Kanye West, Lady Gaga (just to name a few). Chaz musical journey began at the age of 9 as part of a musical group called “RATED G”. During this young age she started performing in large venues in and around Southern California, such as the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Chazgraduated from the prestigious Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), in which she specialized in Musical Theater.
After honing her unique sound over the years, Chaz musical ambitions is to continue to grow while preparing to release her first solo album. The songs will provide a look into her unique style and her gift to transcend the music genres like POP, EDM, Dance and House.
